Benet, Mordecai
(1753-1829)
   Bohemian rabbi and talmudist. In 1789 he was appointed chief rabbi of Moravia. He had a broad secular knowledge and was temperate in his attitude towards Reform Judaism and the Haskalah. He wrote several works of responsa.
